LIONS ADVANCE TO CIF DIVISION III PLAYOFFS

The Horizon Prep Varsity Girls’ Tennis team clinched the Summit League championship of the Frontier Conference advancing them to CIF Division III league playoffs. The Horizon Prep Lions were victorious in a match against opponents from High Tech High Chula Vista. The Horizon Prep’s Girls’ Tennis program is only in its second year of competitive play and posted the league’s best record with an impressive 5 wins and only one loss.

The Lions are coached by tennis professional Andy Volkert, and assisted by Hannah Botsford. “The girls have had an amazing season and continue to improve and grow. They are extremely proud of this accomplishment and are training hard for the upcoming CIF Tournament at Morley Field in San Diego’s Balboa Park,” noted Coach Volkert.

The young team consists of mostly Sophomores. There are three singles players: Reese Taylor at number one, Helena Macke and Madison Tag, and two doubles teams: Faith Rogers/Felicity Seaton and Nicole Easum/Sarah Melby.

Founded in 2000, Horizon Prep offers a private Christ-centered, Classical education on its 30-acre campus in Rancho Santa Fe to students in preschool through grade 12.
