Response to Rob Whittemore’s Email

Some of you may have received an email from Rob Whittemore alleging “censorship” on my behalf. Suffice it to say that I deleted two articles and several forum posts from the Post as they contained criticisms of RSFA staff.

Staff faithfully execute policies as dictated by the RSFA Board. Criticize the RSFA Board all you want, but staff are off limits as explicitly stated in the Post’s About Us page.

This would be a good time to point out that the RSFA has a Harassment Regulation in force that states in part:

Harassing or abusive behavior is defined as that which is directed at an employee, vendor or volunteer that a reasonable person would find hostile, offensive, intimidating, threatening or humiliating in public or in private, such as the use of derogatory remarks, insults, yelling, cursing, or undermining a person’s work performance.

Various Members at various times have come perilously close to violating this regulation or have violated it. I am working with the rest of the Board to ensure we afford staff proper protections going forward.
