The HOA Election Gets Rough
Another RSF Board election has come and gone and the smear campaign on Steve Games was a success. Games came in fourth. Only 136 votes behind incumbant LeBeau. Had the anonymous “JW” group not resurfaced, LeBeau probably would have lost. Who in the world cares this much about an HOA election to make up a political smear campaign against a candidate? Who has the time? “JW” did the same thing last year to Dick Clotfelter. Clotfelter ruffled feathers with his critique of our dysfunctional HOA. What did the well-liked, respected businessman Steve Games do wrong? The answer is: “Who has the most to lose?” My bet is the golf enthusiasts needing their new $10 million (and counting), Association-funded, non-member-approved restaurant. Or maybe its the boys in the player’s club worried an outsider might finally audit the restaurant and find out where the hell that $1.6 million loss goes every year? They can all breathe easy for another term. “JW’s” campaign made sure the BOD is seated with FOGs (Friends of Golf) including the new GC President’s wife. Hide your wallets, because these folks spend our assessments like drunken sailors ... or golfers. – Whacked by the 19th Hole Mafia
