Readers & Writers Workshop
with Elizabeth St. John
Join Elizabeth St.John, critically-acclaimed best-selling local author, as she introduces and discusses a variety of novels written by author friends from around the world. In a social and relaxed environment, we’ll discuss the writer’s journey from inspiration to perspiration, discover insider techniques and tricks, and practice basic writing crafts from three-act drama to character arcs. Elizabeth’s author friends will provide personal insights on their books and own inspiration, from classic novels to historical events and family stories.
Enjoy a monthly book or two to read with the author’s insights, helpful writing exercises, and a lively discussion. All welcome, readers, beginners and experienced writers. Sign up for the series, or a month at a time.
This ongoing workshop will meet the last Tuesday of each month.

Eggstravaganza, the ever-popular Easter celebration for children ages two to 10 returns to the Village Church on Saturday, April 1 at 9:00 a.m. The gathering will feature a petting zoo, egg hunt and crafts. The highlight of the morning is a special interactive Easter story with Village Church senior pastor Rev. Dr. Jack Baca. His annual telling of the story of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection regularly attracts hundreds of children and adults. Breakfast will be served. RSVPs are required and the cost is $5 per person with children ages 2 and younger admitted for free.

Haiku is an ancient form of Japanese Poetry, typically consisting of 3 lines, written with 17 syllables (5-7-5) and often about seasons and/or nature.
Join Susan for a 2-hour engaging, interactive and fun workshop. She will present a PowerPoint presentation, share several of her photography prompts (from nature/seasons) and give you ample time for reflection to start, enhance and celebrate your Haiku writing journey!
Susan J. Farese, MSN, RN, is the owner/ president of SJF Communications. She has a master’s degree in Nursing in Adult Health and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Susan has presented numerous continuing education classes, seminars, and keynotes and is the author of the book Poetic Expressions in Nursing…Sharing the Caring, and has published poetry and articles on a variety of topics.

Join members of The Village Church Choir as they prepare for their twelve-day concert tour of Ireland. This program will feature a mix of favorite choral American Choral Anthems as well as exploring the music of the Emerald Isle. The choirs of The Village Church have been lauded not only for their excellence of music in worship, but also celebrated concert works. This is an opportunity to share the joy of this music as they take their gifts to Ireland.
