From the Horse’s (or Candidate’s) Mouth

The deadline for voting for two new Association Board directors is quickly approaching – 5:00 p.m., Monday, June 10. According to the RSFA Inspector of Elections, as of May 31, only 1,015 or 29% of Covenant members have cast their votes. Each Covenant property owner is allowed two ballots for voting. If one or both ballots were not received, inadvertantly discarded, or mistakenly completed, members can go to the Association offices for replacement ballots.

There has been so much noise lately – or what we’ve coined “newsletter-palooza” – that many members are having difficulty determining what each of the candidates’ platform issues are. Plus, with the lackluster attendance at the Annual Board Meeting and Candidate Forum, the majority of Covenant members may be unfamiliar with the candidates and their platforms. So the RSF Post has revisited the Board candidates’ own campaign flyers and distilled it to a bulleted list of their primary goals. We hope it encourages more members to rise above the din of negative politicking, separate fact from fiction, and engage in the process of choosing our two new Association Board leaders.

The following are the four candidates in order as listed on the ballot.

Members may vote by 5:00 p.m., Monday, June 10. Sealed ballots may be mailed back with a stamp to PO Box 7072, Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067, or dropped off in person during business hours at the RSF Association offices at 17022 Avenida de Acacias or 6046 El Tordo. To submit ballots after hours, members can use the secure Ballot Drop Box located at the Avenida de Acacias office, on the west side of the building across from the RSF Community Center. Ballots will be tabulated by the Inspector of Elections at an open Board meeting at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 11.
