The RSF Open tennis tournament, featuring many top 100 women tennis players, is just over a week away. Here’s everything you need to know.
Tennis Fest
Festivities begin Friday October 8th with Tennis Fest. The program starts at 3:30 with adult clinics, games and drills for both tennis and pickleball. A high level exhibition match follows at 5:30, and all food and drinks (including alcoholic) are provided. Entry fee is $50 per person, payable at the front desk, but please consider paying in advance/RSVP at the front desk (frontdesk@rsftennis.club) as that will help the organizers tremendously.
The Tournament
The tournament begins Monday October 11th at 10:00am with singles qualifying. The main draw starts Tuesday at 10:00am, concluding with the singles final on Sunday. Doubles will play Wednesday through Saturday. No fee to watch Monday through Thursday. Friday through Sunday, entry is $5/members, $10/non-members.
Snacks/drinks will be available for purchase throughout the week, and mid-day meals available for purchase Thursday onwards.
Late breaking news will be available on the RSFTC Facebook page. And click here to see the list of competitors. That same page should list the draws and results as they happen.
Volunteers and Sponsors
The tournament is actively looking for volunteers to help with food service and prep, court maintenance, etc. Sign up here.
While community response for sponsorships has been great, there is still room for more. Contact Stacey Pennington (stacey@slpurbanplanning.com).
Hope To See You At The Open!
If you haven’t watched tennis live, treat yourself and come and watch. Tennis is one of those sports that is much better in person than on TV. This will also be one of the year’s biggest community events. Be a part of the fun! Hope to see you there.
